Who we are

FirstDays ("we", "us") provides a personalized, deadline-aware task list and document-drafting tool for new parents at firstdays.io. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: hello@firstdays.io.

Information we collect

• Account: your email address and a hashed password (managed by our authentication provider).
• Intake details you provide: your state, employer and HR contact, insurer and policy number, leave type, and your baby's name, birth/due date, and birth location.
• Generated documents: the emails and letters you create and choose to save.
• Payment: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — we store only a Stripe customer reference and whether you have paid.
• Usage: basic, privacy-friendly analytics (page views) to improve the product.

We do not ask for or store your baby's Social Security number. You enter the SSN directly with the Social Security Administration when you file — never in FirstDays.

How we use it

We use your information solely to generate your personalized task list and documents, send you deadline reminders and account emails, process your one-time payment, and operate and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We share data only with vendors that help us run FirstDays, under their respective terms:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
• Vercel — application hosting and analytics.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Anthropic — AI model that drafts your documents from the details you provide. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted through its API.
• Resend — transactional and reminder emails.

Data retention & security

Your data is protected with row-level security so that each account can access only its own records, and is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@firstdays.io. We will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

FirstDays is intended for use by parents (adults). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information about your baby is provided by you, the parent.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email.
